Godtube Video

The last half of the above video has some powerful scripture references. As you know from my earlier posts, I have a new fascination with the stars so naturally I like the reference at 1:54.

Music is from Armageddon score which seems fitting. (T.Rabin)

Hail Storm

It sounded like someone was hammering the roof in!
First round happened at 12:30. The one time I left my truck out of the carport. I ran out in it and brought it up under cover. Garbonzo bean size. Somewhere between a large pea and a grape. A lot of it. If it had been any bigger, it would have been dangerous to walk out into for the short time I did.

2nd round woke me up at 4:30. Same size but harder coming down. It was a hail STORM. There was no tornado and not much wind. Rain, lightning, thunder, and lots of hail. The most I've ever seen.

No Walking tub of Crisco

6:00 - 7:00pm
1 round sphere
2 machine guns in the hands of clowns
1 cubicle of wood, wall, and glass
oh yeah - 4 ibuprofen and an ankle wrap

Playing Racquetball with someone your own age is much different than playing with a 7 and 11 yr old. At 6:15, I thought we were probably ready to go, but like other exercising, you get a second wind and you play thru, more so when you are winning than loosing.

At approximately 6:55 I was engaged in a longer volley of the night, and was forced into the right wall, backhanding one back to front wall. There was a lot of acrobatic insanity going on and just before I hit the wall, my ankle twisted and I went down. It wasn't like "oh I've twisted my ankle, I need to sit down for a minute" it was more like I fell down and then came to the awareness that I had twisted my ankle. I wasn't close to crying but the pain lasted pretty bad for about 5 minutes. In an effort to ease the pain, my friend told me that I had gained the point. With only 2 points left in the game, I finally got up and finished it. It turns out I lost both games but it was a respectable loss.

I'm sure the full pain of the game and the ankle won't hit for another day or two, but right now I can't wait til next Thursday to play again. It was a lot of fun. I think I may have found out why I can't stick to a weight loss program. I don't like cardio. It sucks. Racquetball is fun, and I have no doubt, I burned more calories in 1 hour, than 1 weeks worth of time pining away like a gerbil in a wheel doing cardio. Plus, I didn't go to loose weight, I went to have fun.

Sure I'm in some pain, but it's much better than feeling like a walking tub of crisco, which has been the recent scenario.

If I can keep from injuring myself too bad, this just might work.

More Star Gazing

We were all excited about the weather and I didn't go to bed until about 12:30 am. This morning somewhere around 6:30 I woke up from an intense dream. It wasn't really bad or really good like most of my dreams, but I remember feeling like it was really important.

Here's the scene:

I was standing outside leaned against my truck and it was dark. LA and N both came out to join me. S was still in bed. I was pointing at the sky and telling them to come look. The stars looked normal in size and shape but were spiraling in a circle and gathering in towards the center making the center area brighter and the rest of the sky darker. They kept circling around close together in the center and 3 white moons appeared across the top of the sky. The moons were about twice as large as normal. I remember thinking it was about 4 am, because I wanted to call my brother but was concerned about waking him up. I kept trying to dial the numbers on my cell but I was distracted by the sights and couldn't get the call to go thru. It was really bothering me that I couldn't get the phone to work, but I was hoping he was outside checking out this wonder as well. Right before I woke up there were several small "northern-lights-type" flashes across the sky. It surprised me when I woke up because it was so bright in the room from the snow and the dream had been mostly a dark, night time setting.

I don't read too much into my dreams, and this is no exception. I did find it interesting that I posted the star gazing post earlier this week and then dreamed this. That being said, while I am writing this, I just thought that perhaps the 3 moons represent the Trinity, and the stars follow my thoughts from the earlier post regarding heaven.

Snow pics to follow......

No title

It is a sad night.
Yesterday, there were 5.5 under our roof.
Tonight... only 5

There aren't really a lot of words that seem to help. Only hugs and crying.

It's likely we will be back to 4 under our roof before the end of the week.

"If I go to prepare a place for you......"

A couple of months ago, I spent over 2 hours looking up at the stars with my daughter. It was cold and it was clear, and it was cold. The only relief from the cold was the blanket we draped over our seemingly insignificant bodies, and the amazement of how many stars were out that night. We blew up the Coleman air mattress so we could have a view that only flat on your back provides. The conversation was good and so were the things that were not said. We talked about the important things in life and then we enjoyed the quiet, the peace, the calm together. The look on her face, a fraction of a second after a shooting star passed as she tried to explain to me what she saw, was unforgettable.

She snuggled deep and fell asleep, under the stars and in my arms. It was a rare moment. I enjoyed the feeling and the warmth it brought.

I fought hard not to join her slumber by refocusing my eyes on the blurry stars, making them sharp again. As I looked around I wondered why He created all of it. With so many galaxies and stars and everything else that is up there, surely earth is not the only significant part. But why is there, what role does it eventually play in his plan. I believe that He created it all for a purpose but it became clear I would not find out why on this night.

Over the past several weeks, during everday conversation, several people have brought up to me the significance of numbers, and stars and how many billions of this, and millions of that exists. The information seemed to come often and fast and only made Earth smaller, and my question larger.

Last night at Men's group, my question was answered. The session was on Heaven and went beyond the child like explanation that most of us grow up with. Beyond the choir with robes and the gates and the streets of gold. It was a great session and I am continuing to learn from it.

It's difficult to explain now that I am trying to write it out. The best way I can explain it is like this:

The Bible describes Heaven as being a place of things never imagined by man before. I believe that Heaven will validate why all of the other "stuff" besides earth is out there. Further, I believe that all of this "stuff" will play an important physical role in God's promise of "going to prepare a place" for us.
